New Channahon Traffic Signal; Future Lockport Signal?
White the new temporary traffic signals put up by the Village of Channahon have been activated at U S 6 and Bell Road as of Wednesday; Lockport Alderman Pete Colarelli says a GOOD FIRST STEP has taken place towards a possible "future traffic light" at State and 13th Streets, where motorists enter the Lockport Metra Station. Lockport has obtained a federal grant. But as Colorelli points out: this is, FOR NOW, just for engineering work. Colarelli says a good part of the engineering work will be figuring out 'timing adjustments' at State Street's nearby lights at Division, 10th, and 9th Streets.
