Plainfield Looking at Pedestrian Bridge, Smaller Houses, House Businesses

The Plainfield Village Board had a triple crown of issues for the future set for Monday night's Committee of the Whole workshop.  Mayor Mike Collins says he would love to have the planned Lockport Street South Pedestrian Bridge finalized.  He says this part of the Riverfront Master Plan will hopefully be up and going by next year.  Meanwhile, there is a possible change with the planned Plainfield West subdivision out by Grant Park.  Mayor Collins says that due to the current economy the developer is considering building 310 housing units that would be smaller than the planned 240 housing units.  And finally, there was also the question of "business transition."  In some parts of Plainfield houses are allowed to become businesses.  But this is not currently allowed on certain parts of Routes 126, 59, and 30.  A current movement is looking at some possible changes.
