The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced that weather permitting on October 20th, U S 30 between Aurora and Plainfield will be completely closed for about two weeks for emergency repairs to two culverts. Permanent repairs will still be needed, but the temporary repairs are needed now to avoid a restriction on truck traffic for during the winter. Traffic will be detoured via U S 34 and Illinois Route 59.
