Newly appointed to Illinois Governor JB Pritzker’s capital infrastructure committee Marc Poulos says promises made by former transportation secretary regarding I-80 are expected to come to fruition. Those include, minutemen and cantilever signs.

At WJOL’s RUSH meeting a year ago, then transportation secretary Randy Blankenhorn made those promises to Residents United For Safer Highways as way to mitigate the dangers of I-80 with the influx of trucks and population growth in Will County. Poulos attended the RUSH meetings and in his new position expects I-80 to be part of a new capital improvement bill this spring.

Poulos says everything is on the table including turning I-80 into a tollway and says Governor Pritzker realizes the importance of the I-80 corridor.
