Alternative Programming Initiative
|
The rapid pace of the Internet and related-technologies has given WJOL a new set of powerful tools to keep you informed and entertained. WJOL will be introducing new alternative programming throughout 2007 and beyond. On-the-air, stream-only or simulcasted, our Alternatve-Programming Initiative aims to keep WJOL at the forefront of this wave with programming that presents alternative views and experimental new ways of providing you the content that YOU demand.
WJOL will continue to be the heart of Will County's News/Talk/Sports with multiple local sports events like IHSA Football streamcasted live at WJOL.com, podcasts like Slocum Says & Noon News NOW! with Steve Brandy and quintessential on-air favorites like Slocum in the Morning and The Afternoon Rush with Isaac Sancken.
FREE TALK LIVE - The first show in our Alternative-Programming Initiative, Free Talk Live launched in November 2006 as a stream-only weekday show and is a 2-hour replay of the previous day's FTL podcast. A small-"L" libertarian talk show, hosts Ian Bernard and Mark Edge will either make you laugh or just make you angry but they'll definitely make you think about the issues facing America today.
COMMON SENSE WITH DAN CARLIN - Added to WJOL's "API" line-up January, 2007. If the Generation X age group (and younger) really is a mostly politically independent group (as polls seem to show) then Dan Carlin really might be "The voice of a new generation". The show airs evenings on WJOL's streaming radio.
HARDCORE HISTORY - Added January, 2007. Was Alexander the Great as bad a person as Hitler? What was the greatest army of all time? Which U.S. President was the worst? Dan Carlin's Hardcore History discusses the issues and questions history fans love.
There's plenty more to come as we enter the new year so stay tuned to WJOL 1340 AM and WJOL.com for all of your News/Talk/Sports needs in Will County and beyond! |
