Two Month Project Begins at Long Run Creek Bridge
Starting Monday October 19th a two-month bridge repair project will close eastbound Illinois Route 171 (Archer Avenue) at the Long Run Creek bridge, located just west of 135th Street in the Lockport-Lemont-Homer Glen area.
Weather permitting, here’s what motorists should expect:
· Traffic will be down to a single westbound lane over the bridge, but drivers should expect delays.
· Eastbound thru traffic will be detoured starting at New Avenue in Lockport, to Main Street in Lemont, then via Illinois Route 83/Illinois Route 171 (Cal-Sag Road).
· Local eastbound traffic will be permitted access to the area, but will not be able to cross the bridge.
. All work is expected to be completed in December of 2009, and all work and related closures are weather dependent.
