Lockport, Other 355 Extension Cities to Start Payments

It was two years ago this month that the "I-355 extension" opened.  But before it was completed....one of the touchy issues was how much money the municipalities along the road.......Lemont, Homer Glen, Lockport, and New Lenox.......would contributute to the Illinois Tollway for the building of the interchanges.  Eventually....an agreement was worked out.  But the actual payments....due by 2014....have not yet begun.  Lockport Alderman Pete Colarelli says.....despite the current "difficult economic times"......the four cities intend to start soon.

Colarelli says......Lockport\'s plan right now is to MAKE LARGER PAYMENTS.....as the 2014 deadline nears.

Tonight\'s Lockport City Council meeting is scheduled for 7 PM.
