January Gaming Numbers Released
The Illinois Gaming Board has released its numbers from the month of January. Joliet\'s Harrah\'s Casino brought in just over 21-point-five million dollars, an INCREASE of 14 percent from the month of December. That total was two-thirds of a percent higher than Harrah\'s total from January of 2009. Joliet\'s Empress Casino brought in just over 12-and-a-half million dollars, an increase of nine percent from the month of December.....but a drop of three-point-four percent from January of 2009. For the whole state of Illinois.....January brought in a total of just over 115-and-a-half million dollars.......an increase of almost nine-point-four percent from December. However, the state\'s January total was three-point-one percent BELOW its total from January of 2009. For the first month of 2010......Elgin was the state\'s top money-making casino....with Harrah\'s second.....Aurora third....and the Empress fourth.
